Mastering shouldn’t be hard, so why do we stress over the concept and think it’s hard? It’s just because of the name ‘Master.’ It has to be the absolute best. Let me show you my approach and how I tackle a song and master it. I will show you my mastering process, how I approach a mixed song, and the plugins I use when mastering in Pro Tools or in any other DAW.

Don’t kill all the dynamics!

I will also explain a few dos and a few dont’s when mastering so you don’t make the same mistakes many make when the first start.

Your job, is to make it sound better!

Remember you are just making a song sound good and better without destroying it. Have fun with it and give it the flavor you like. You do not need to use these exact plugins. This is just the plugins I use that I like the sound of. Lastly, there is no wrong way to master a song unless you make it sound worst or no change from the mix! Your job, is to make it sound better!
