DeEssing, to put it simple it is a compressor with an eq side chain. It specifies a frequency range and compresses it to bring the volume down on the selected section.

It is easy to deEss. Don’t over think it and just make the sound sound better LOL! Take out sibilance and harsh sounding frequencies quick and easy.
