Truly thankful to an amazing friend and business partner Chizzy Stephens. He had given me the opportunity to mix and master the theme song for Tyler Perry’s new series “Sistas”
This is a HUGE accomplishment and a goal I have only dreamed of reaching. It is amazing to see how much hard work that has paid off over all these years. Yes I have had some songs I’ve been a part of on TV or in Movies but this is a THEME SONG! Every time somebody plays an episode the song will play! THAT IS AMAZING!
I can’t thank my friend, my family, and everyone who has supported me so much. I know there will be many many more to come and big records I will be a part of but this one is different and means a lot to me. I guess because I mixed and mastered it. Not just one or the other. I did both. Oh and of course I edited the song before mixing it.
This is just something that I can tell other aspiring engineers also that they don’t need the best gear or equipment or listening environment to mix big records. I mixed and mastered this on my MacBook pro, in my bedroom, with my monitors close together. One monitor is hanging off my desk while the other is up against the back and side wall. It is the engineer who knows his gear who makes the records sound good!
